The former president of the Metis Nation – Saskatchewan is no longer facing charges of forgery and conspiracy.
The Crown has decided to drop its case against Dwayne Roth.
Roth was charged in 2007 after allegations surfaced regarding the MN-S election of 2004.
Nearly a dozen people were charged with forgery-related offences, the majority of whom pleaded guilty.
Crown prosecutor Paul Goldstein says he made the decision after reviewing the transcript from the preliminary inquiry and determining there was not a reasonable likelihood for a conviction.
