Panipekeesick Re-Elected As Yorkton Tribal Chief

The Yorkton Tribal Council has re-elected Tribal Chief Gilbert Panipekeesick to his third term in office.

Panipekeesick — who also served as chief on the Sakimay First Nation — beat out challenger Vern Severight by a vote count of 17 to 13.

Yorkton tribal chief terms are three years.
