The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies is getting a break on its taxes.
The province announced today the school will soon be exempt from school and municipal taxes on property it owns.
The amendment brings the school in line with other post-secondary institutions in the province.
Advanced Education Minister Rob Norris says the move will also help SIIT use its funding to maximize student opportunities.
The province says the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and the SIIT Board of Governors initiated the request for tax exemption.
