A sod turning event was held in Prince Albert today for a new youth treatment facility.
The facility will accommodate youth aged 12 – 17 years who need between four and six weeks of drug and alcohol addiction recovery time.
The initiative is a partnership between Saskatchewan Health, the Prince Albert Parkland Regional Health Authority and the Prince Albert Grand Council.
Joanne Breland works with the PAGC and is part of the project management team.
She says they are happy to be moving forward.
The province is picking up the $6.9 million tab for capital expenses and operating costs.
Completion is expected by September of next year.
