Urban members of the Muskowekwan First Nation have concerns regarding the future of a potash mine in the community.

Pamela Blondeau is an urban band member who lives in Regina.

At a press conference Tuesday, Blondeau says she wants to create awareness of the project among the membership.

Blondeau says her concerns are about the environmental impact and how much money the mining company Encanto and Muskowekwan Resources are getting in the deal.

According to a spokesperson at the band office, a referendum regarding the mine was scheduled for January, but has been pushed back until after February elections.
