Cumberland House Man Dead Following Altercation

A 43-year-old man from the Cumberland House Cree Nation is dead after an altercation in the community.

RCMP say it was around 2:30 this morning officers were summoned to a house on the reserve.

It was there they found the injured man.

He was rushed to hospital but did not survive.

A 25-year-old man has been picked up in connection to the incident but has yet to be charged.

Sergeant Paul Dawson says an autopsy is likely.

The name of the deceased man has not been released.
