Metis Recognized with Order of Gabriel Dumont

Metis who have served their people were honoured this weekend by the Gabriel Dumont Institute at its 30th anniversary and cultural conference in Saskatoon.

 

GDI hands out the Order of Gabriel Dumont to anyone who contributes to the well-being of Metis, regardless of race.

 

this year Clarence Campeau was inducted post-humously and the award was also given to Guy Bouvier, Sheila Pocha, Elie Fleury and Elder Rose Fleury.

 

New this year was the bronze Order of Gabriel Dumont, which was awarded to 18 GDI students.
