As the end of the Year of the Metis draws near, women’s contributions are being celebrated.
Four Metis women who have contributed to their communities by preserving their history are being profiled by the province’s Status of Women.
Mary Rose Boyer is a retired educator who currently works as a librarian in Bienfait.
Born near Estevan and raised south of Macoun, Boyer says her Metis heritage is a source of pride especially when it comes to her mother.
Boyer has written stories for GDI including one about the veterans in her family.
