The P.A. pulp mill continues to be an issue on whether it will be torn down, cleaned up or sold to another entity.

Saskatchewan Minister of Energy Bill Boyd says the government’s role is to facilitate discussions between Domtar and a new purchaser, and he remains hopeful about the mill’s future.

The minister says there will be a meeting later this week.

Boyd also says the clean-up costs may not be as high as first estimated, with half the cost to the province.

He estimates the clean-up at $25 million.

Meanwhile, NDP leader Dwayne Lingefelter says the mills future should involve job creation in P.A.

Lingenfelter is also concerned that clean-up costs would go to the province and taxpayers.
