Funeral arrangements have been announced for a constable from the Prince Albert police service.
The service for the late Tim Ballantyne will begin at one p.m. Wednesday at the Senator Allen Bird Memorial Gymnasium.
The 27-year-old man was killed Saturday morning after his personal car rolled over on highway number 3 south of the city.
Staff Sergeant Bill Chow of the Prince Albert police service says the department is coming together in the wake of Ballantyne’s death.
Meantime, the chief of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation says Ballantyne’s family is doing the best it can in the wake of the tragedy.
Chief Darrell McCallum says he had met Ballantyne a couple of times before and found him to be a very well-mannered young man.
He notes Ballantyne’s death comes at a difficult time.
McCallum says after Wednesday’s service Ballantyne’s body will be taken back to his home community of Deschambault Lake for a funeral.
