A new music video is helping those left behind.

“The Road Forward” is a nine-minute short film that will screen during the closing ceremonies of the mispon festival in Regina this weekend.

Actress Michelle St. John participated in the film and says its about artists offering some support to children of missing and murdered Aboriginal women.

St. John says the artists want them to know that they’re thinking of them and their future.

The performance was inspired by the Aboriginal political and social movements in British Columbia and that province’s Highway of Tears.

All proceeds from the sale of the song are going to a scholarship for the children of missing and murdered women.
