Hundreds of First Nations and Metis students were recognized yesterday by the University of Saskatchewan.

For 20 years now, the university has held a powwow to celebrate and honour students from around the province.

The students were made up of both high school graduates and university graduates.

A total of 244 First Nations and Metis university graduates were honoured yesterday, in addition to 160 high school graduates.

This year’s powwow celebrated diversity.

Two grand entries were held and a group from the Thunderchild First Nation was on hand to provide traditional drumming.
