The chief of the Assembly of First Nations likes what he sees in the alternative federal budget.

It was released today by the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.

Chief Shawn Atleo says that suggested budget actually addresses the needs of First Nations people.

For example, it calls for more support for First Nation governments.

It also addresses concerns in health and healing as well as economic opportunities.

It also says $1 billion needs to be spent to address problems with water and infrastructure on First Nations.

Atleo has heard rumours the federal budget, which comes down March 22nd, won’t likely contain any of those measures.

In fact, Atleo has heard that budget may feature cuts to housing, infrastructure and even policing.
