AFN Kicks Off Month Of Advocacy And Action

The Assembly of First Nations has declared June the month of “First Nations Advocacy, Awareness and Action”.

 

National Chief Shawn Atleo says the goal is to foster a better understanding between First Nations and other Canadians.

 

The AFN will host a number of events in Ottawa including an arts festival, roundtable discussions and a parliamentary reception.

 

There are also plans to mark the three-year anniversary of the federal apology for residential schools.
