Around 40 to 50 people holdings signs protesting nuclear waste marched into Prince Albert this morning.
The demonstrators were taking part in an event organized by the committee for future generations.
The group is marching down to Regina in an effort to prompt the Saskatchewan government to ban the storage of nuclear waste in the province.
Max Morin is a main organizers with today’s event.
He says other parts of the world have begun to support them in their quest.
Morin says a group in Germany has also contacted them with messages of support.
A rally took place over the lunch hour outside city hall where the mayor, Jim Scarrow, presented the group with some water from the North Saskatchewan river.
Scarrow says he isn’t taking sides in the nuclear debate; he merely wanted to welcome the residents into the city.
