Two northern members of the legislature have new critic duties after changes made within the NDP caucus.

Cumberland MLA Doyle Vermette takes over from Buckley Belanger as Northern Affairs Critic.

Vermette continues in his position as Deputy Whip, but relinquishes the Forestry Critic role to Prince Albert MLA Darcy Furber.

Belanger, the member for the Athabasca constituency, is now critic for SaskEnergy and Government Services.

The New Democrats say these and other critic re-assignments are part of preparations for the spring sitting of the legislature and the upcoming fall provincial election.
