The Canadian Human Rights Tribunal has tossed out a complaint against the federal government.
The complaint in question deals with funding for First Nations Child and Family Service Agencies on Reserve.
Since 2007 the First Nations Child and family caring society has argued children on reserve are being discriminated against by Ottawa.
The claim the government does not provide children’s agencies with the same level of funding it does off-reserve.
Yesterday, the government was successful in having the complaint dismissed.
Cindy Blackstock, the executive director of the caring society, says the ruling amounts to racial discrimination.
She says her society plans to appeal the decision in federal court.
