Shelly Tootoosis of the Cowessess First Nation is the new Saskatchewan Teachers Federation Associate Executive Director.

In that role, she helps promote teachers and their profession in the province.

For seven years before that, she was the Executive Assistant. That job was more a case of providing information to teachers, Tootoosis says.

Tootoosis began her new job earlier this month.
