Cree Language Festival in La Ronge

A Cree Language Festival was held today at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre in La Ronge.

The annual event is sponsored by the Northern Cree Language Retention Committee and has been running since 1999.

Committee member Minnie McKenzie says students from schools in the area take part in several activities.

McKenzie says there has been a noticeable improvement in Cree language skills since the festival began.
