Elders need to band together to oppose federal legislation which could hurt Aboriginal people, an Elders Forum organizer says.

Stan Fuller says Bill C-36, which was just passed in December, is particularly worrying.

He says it gives Health Canada officials powers you’d expect in places like Nazi Germany.

Fuller says everyone from Aboriginal healers to health food store owners could be affected.

Fuller was speaking during a three-day Treaty Six Elders Forum in North Battleford.

The forum, which began Wednesday, runs through Friday. It has attracted Elders from as far as La Ronge and Sturgeon Lake.
