First Nations Concerned About River Levels

Some First Nations have expressed concern that water levels from the Qu’Appelle River will rise due to structure release by the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority.

But John Fahlman with the Watershed Authority says that is not the case.

Fahlman says the Diefenbaker is the only release that would affect the river system, and its levels are lower than the in other areas of the province.

A recent update shows that high flows on the Qu’Appelle River will result in very high lake levels by early next week on the Qu’Appelle lakes.

Updates can be found on the website www.saskflood.ca.
