Flin Flon Extra Foods Closing

People living in Flin Flon and the surrounding area will soon have less choice when it comes to buying groceries.
As of October 15th, the Extra Foods will be closing, as the company says the store is “no longer economically viable.”
Flin Flon Mayor George Fontaine says firstly, it’s disappointing to lose a business because it means jobs are lost.
He says with one less grocery store, there is also less product choice and less price competition.
Fontaine says he hasn’t heard directly from the store so isn’t sure if there are any plans for the soon-to-be vacant building.
