Former Cameco Official Recognized

A long-time champion of equal opportunities is set to receive the Order of Canada.

For years Rita Mirwald worked to establish training programs at the Cameco Corporation in an effort to help First Nations and Metis workers find jobs there.

She also was known for her mentorship of female employees, and becoming the first female director of the Saskatchewan Mining Association.

On Friday Governor General David Johnston will present her with the award at a ceremony at Rideau Hall.
