Former Tribal Chief Joins NDP

The provincial NDP will be represented in Meadow Lake in this fall’s election by a former tribal chief.
Former Meadow Lake Tribal Council chief Helen Ben won a contested nomination for the riding last night.
The former chief of the Makwa Sahagiehcan First Nation led the MLTC from 2005 until last fall, when she lost an election to current tribal chief Eric Sylvestre.
