The Chief of the FSIN wonders why federal parties don’t do more to attract First Nations candidates.
Chief Guy Lonechild wishes there were more First Nations candidates running in Saskatchewan ridings in the upcoming federal elections.
He says young, First Nations professionals are future decision-makers and they need to get involved.
Lonechild says issues that should be national like boil water advisories, child welfare reform and education reform take a backseat when there is little or no Aboriginal representation in the House of Commons.
