High Waters Remain in La Ronge

High waters in the La Ronge area could be sticking around for a while.

Mayor Thomas Sierzycki says the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority told him floodwaters could crest as early as today.

However, that could change now that rain has been forecast for the area.

The mayor also expects much of the water to stay around until freeze-up as well.

The mayor says 30 to 35 homes have flooded due to groundwater seepage.

He notes provincial disaster forms should be available shortly.
