The Kawacatoose First Nation is joining forces with a deep-pocketed American equity firm.
Native American Resource Partners has agreed to help the band pursue resource development on land attained through the Treaty Land Entitlement process.
John Jurrius is the C.E.O of the firm.
He says there are many natural resources out there worth exploring, such as potash.
However, his firm’s real focus is energy.
Jurrius adds his company has heard many First Nations say government funding for the T.L.E. process is insufficient and doesn’t allow bands to fulfill their allocation needs.
