La Loche Mayor Had Hoped for More in Budget

A mayor in Northwest Saskatchewan says she would have liked to have seen more money for her area in this week’s provincial budget.

Georgina Jolibois says La Loche could have used more money for things like housing and roads.

She also notes funding for the Enterprise Region in Northwest Saskatchewan has taken a hit.

This week’s budget did contain extra money for child protection workers and a suicide reduction action plan.

However, Jolibois doubts much of the money will actually make its way into La Loche.

At the same time, Jolibois says the budget’s overall plan for the province appears sound.
