LLRIB Re-elects Chief Cook-Searson

Members of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band have re-elected Chief Tammy Cook-Searson.

 

The incumbent, who’s been in office since 2005, held off challenges from seven other candidates in yesterday’s chief and council elections.

 

Cook-Searson received 1045 votes. Her closest rival was Henry McKenzie, who finished with 660 votes.

 

As for the band council, the band councillors in La Ronge over the next three years will be Sam Roberts, Michael Bird, Annie Ratt, and Larry Roberts.

 

In Stanley Mission, the representatives on council are Bernice Roberts, Lester Roberts, and John P. Roberts

 

Samson Ratt is the councillor in Hall Lake.

 

In Sucker River, Kenny Ratt has been re-elected to council.

 

Keith Mirasty and John Halkett are once again the councillors in Little Red.

 

And voters in Grandmother’s Bay have re-elected incumbent councillor Leon Charles.
