Frustration is setting in for a man who’s trying to set up a taxi business in Ile-a-la-Crosse.

Gerald Burnouf says he’s done everything required to launch his business: from purchasing a vehicle and getting it certified to securing a business license.

However, he says village council recently denied his request to set up shop because they feel the community cannot support another taxi-cab.

Burnouf says he spent thousands of dollars getting everything in order only to have the door closed on him.

No one from the village office was immediately available for comment.
