Man Who Escaped Halfway House Arrested

Officers from three RCMP detachments were involved in the arrest of an escaped prisoner on Tuesday.

Police say around 7pm, 41-year-old Michael Brian Bearboy was taken into custody at Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation.

Loon Lake RCMP officers were assisted by members from the Pierceland and Meadow Lake detachments.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued on February 26th when Bearboy left a halfway house in Edmonton.

Bearboy had been serving a seven-year sentence for manslaughter from an incident in Loon Lake in 2006.
