The Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region has received a passing grade from Accreditation Canada.

Every three years the regulatory body visits the region to ensure it has kept certain services up to par.

Cindy Greuel is a risk management coordinator for Mamawetan.

She says the accreditation applies to things like diagnostic imaging, long-term care and medicine.

At the same time the regulatory body also identified a number of challenges that must be addressed.

Greuel says one of these is housing.

She adds the other problem is that the region currently leases some buildings which makes it difficult to implement changes to them.
