The oriented strand board mill at Meadow Lake is getting a face-lift.
Today, Ottawa announced it is pouring $1.3 million into the facility.
The money will be used to upgrade equipment at the mill so it can produce specialty products.
Everything from industrial-type decking to laminate-strip lumber will be possible through the new technologies.
Parker Snyder is the plant manager at the Meadow Lake plant.
He says they’ve already started on the work.
Tolko Industries is the major stake-holder at the Meadow Lake site.
In addition to the $1.3 million of federal money, Tolko will put in $1.6 million of its own.
