The Metis Nation of Saskatchewan is talking child-care with the provincial government.

MNS secretary Max Morin says members of the executive met recently with the social services minister.

Morin says he likes many of the recommendations made to the government in the children’s advocate’s report.

Some of them call for more supports to be created for aboriginal families to keep children from being seized from them.

Morin says if a Metis child does need to be seized however, he or she – should stay within their community.

He adds they plan to talk more with the minister later this month.
