The RCMP are investigating the sudden death of a 12-month-old boy at the One Arrow First Nation.

The Mounties say the child’s mother called 911 at around 7:00 a.m. on Saturday when the child was discovered unresponsive in his bed.

Family members began CPR while EMS was en route.

Wakaw emergency personnel continued trying to resuscitate the child while transporting him to the Rosthern Hospital, but the child was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The investigation to determine the cause of death continues.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place in Saskatoon today.

The boy’s name has not been released.
