One member of the Manitoba health community says he hopes a new report on the health of Aboriginal women and children will help educate the public at large.
Dr. Michael Moffatt of Manitoba contributed to the report Understanding and Improving Aboriginal Maternal and Child Health in Canada
Moffatt says Canadians are aware of the poor health in Aboriginal communities but not enough understanding of why and the need to focus efforts on the children in these communities.
The report looks at successful models of improving Aboriginal maternal and children’s health and can be found at the Health Council of Canada website.
