Nominations Open for Literacy Awards

The Saskatchewan Aboriginal Literacy Network is taking nominations for its awards gala in May.

New to the categories this year is an award for youth.

Carol Vandale, Executive Director of SALN, says the youth award is significant because it’s often assumed young people are learning but that isn’t always the case.

Vandale hopes acknowledging successful and dedicated youth will help address those issues by engaging them as role models.

The awards will be held May 13th at Dakota Dunes Casino.
