The sister of a La Ronge man who died in a fatal fire says it doesn’t seem right that the perpetrator who set the blaze isn’t getting more jail time.

Patricia Charles spoke outside a Prince Albert courtroom today about the loss of her brother, his young baby and the child’s mother.

Justin Charles, Marsha McKenzie and their four month-old son Jeremy Charles died after a fire broke out at Lakeview apartments on May 26th of 2009.

The man accused of setting the blaze, Blake David Norman, pleaded guilty this morning.

However it wasn’t to the original charges of manslaughter and arson, rather he ended up pleading guilty to three counts of criminal negligence causing death.

The crown and defense agreed through a joint submission that Norman should be sentenced to time served along with two years probation.

Speaking outside the courthouse Patricia Charles says the family is going through a lot of hurt and pain.

“To us it doesn’t feel so fair. It doesn’t seem right. There should have been more time.”

Norman has already served 19 months in remand.

A clerk at the courthouse says Norman has now been released.
