A 24 year-old man from the Pelican Lake First Nation is dead after a head-on collision Sunday night.

RCMP responded to the crash 20 kilometres north of Chitek Lake on grid road 945.

A red sedan with three passengers came into contact with an SUV containing four passengers.

The deceased was driving the sedan.

Emergency crews tried to revive him but it was too late.

The ages of the other driver and passengers are between 17 to 33.

All were taken to hospital with serious or life-threatening injuries.

The injured are from the Pelican Lake, Big River and Ahtahkakoop First Nations — as well as Saskatoon and North Battleford.

RCMP say they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The name of the deceased has not been released.
