Poundmaker Councillors, Chief Face Fraud Charges

Nine former or present Poundmaker band councillors and officials have been charged with 46 counts of fraud regarding TLE funds.

Sergeant Lora Anne Machdanz of the RCMP Commercial crime division says the case goes back seven years.

Charges include theft over $5,000, fraud over $5,000, criminal breach of trust and breach of trust by a public official.

The nine accused, including current chief Duane Antoine, make their first court appearance August 16th.
