The province is sprucing up its water-bomber fleet.
Today it unveiled the first of four existing planes that has been converted to go faster and spend less time being worked on by mechanics.
Bombardier Aerospace is the company that worked on the CL-215’s.
It changed their radial engines to more powerful turbine ones.
In a release, Environment Minister Dustin Duncan says the conversion of the aircraft’s engines from old piston technology to turbine power is the most effective way forward.
The company says it is pleased to deliver the first converted aircraft.
It adds the other ones are on the way.
