Evacuees from the Red Earth Cree Nation who have been staying in Saskatoon will be heading home today.
Nearly 750 people were forced to leave their homes on the reserve due to flooding.
Richard Kent with the Prince Albert Grand Council’s emergency and protective services says those in Saskatoon will board buses later today.
As well, those evacuees who had been staying in the gym in the southern part of the reserve will be moved back to the northern part.
Kent says the evacuees are happy they will be home in time for the Easter long weekend.
Meanwhile, the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority says some lakes in the south, like Round Lake and Crooked Lake will experience another rise in water levels.
John Fahlman says for now they are in recession but that will change.
Fahlman says those rises will not be as high as previous peaks, though.
