Relay For Life Coming to La Ronge

Plans are underway for the first ever Relay For Life in La Ronge.

The annual fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society will be held May 13th at the Mel Heglund Uniplex.

Cancer Society Prince Albert Unit Manager Laurie Dent says it is not the first year La Ronge residents have been involved, noting several teams have taken part in the Prince Albert event in the past.

Dent says a Prince Albert businessman Malcolm Jenkins has offered to match up to $50,000 raised in the La Ronge Relay For Life this year.

She also notes Uranium City held a Relay For Life fundraiser last year.
