Saskatoon Police Asking for Clues in Man’s Death

Major crimes investigators in Saskatoon say they have no reason to believe a 20-year-old Aboriginal man, whose body was recently discovered near a city golf course, met with foul play.

However, Saskatoon police are asking for the public’s help in retracing Archie Cachene’s movements prior to his death.

Human remains were discovered on April 10th at a ball diamond near the Holiday Park golf course.

The body has since been identified as Cachene’s.

Police say an autopsy did not reveal any physical evidence to indicate he was the victim of foul play.

Family members report last seeing Cachene at a home in the 1600 block of 22nd Street West, between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., on the evening of January 28, 2011. Before leaving, he told family members he was planning to meet up with friends.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen Cachene after that time to contact 975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
