Twenty-eight Saskatchewan First Nations will be getting high-speed internet service from SaskTel over the next two years.
SaskTel will also deliver 4G wireless coverage to 19 First Nations which don’t have wireless coverage.
SaskTel spokesman Andy Tate says these services are state of the art.
“These are the best technologies available, DSL is the best high-speed technology we offer. You know it’s always on , it’s quite fast, much better than dial-up or other alternatives. And four-G wireless coverage. Four-G is really the new standard for wireless coverage, cellular services.”
The Pelican Lake First Nation and Pheasant Rump Nakota First Nation will be the first two reserves to receive the improvements.
