RCMP say a 14-year-old boy has been charged following a shooting death at Hall Lake yesterday morning.
Police received a call around 8:40 that a young person had received a gunshot wound in the bush behind a home on the reserve.
Emergency personnel were called and a 12-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say a group of three boys, including the victim, ranging in age from 12 to 15 years old, had gone into the woods with a firearm.
A charge of Careless Use of a Firearm has been laid against one of the boys, a 14-year old.
He appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court this morning and was released.
An autopsy is scheduled to take place in Prince Albert tomorrow.
Police say the boys are members of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.
