Two Men Going to Trial in Shooting Death

A trial has been ordered in the case of two men accused of shooting a man to death in La Loche last year.

Richie Keanan Herman and Curtis Randall Ecklund are charged with second-degree murder of 29-year-old Matthew St. Pierre.

St. Pierre is said to have been gunned down in broad daylight in La Loche on June 5th last year.

The two men were ordered to stand trial on the charge after a three-day preliminary hearing.

It’s not known yet if the trial will be held in Battleford or Meadow Lake.

That issue will be discussed during a pre-trial conference. However, a date for that has not been set yet.
