Waterhen Residents Asked To Be Bear Aware

Conservation officers are keeping an eye on the Waterhen Lake area after complaints about bear activity.

Earlier this week, residents of the First Nation were told to keep an eye on children and pets, and to be sure garbage is contained.

Saskatchewan Environment spokesman Rich Hildebrandt says bear reports from that area are not unusual.

Hildebrandt says if bears become a problem, they can be trapped and re-located.
