Neck bones and bannock were on the lunch menu at the All Nations Hope 2nd annual neck bone festival in Regina.
The tradition started last year as a way to introduce the community to the Resolution Health Support Workers who are helping residential school survivors fill out their Common Experience Payment forms.
As the deadline approaches for claims, support worker Derrick Sasakamoose says it’s important to keep up awareness in the community.
Sasakamoose says the workers will be going into the correctional centres soon to reach those that may not have applied for a payment.
The deadline for the Common Experience Payment is next month, September 19.
