Female Pedestrian Killed In Prince Albert-area MVA

An investigation is underway after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle outside Prince Albert last night.

RCMP say it appears the woman was walking on the road when the vehicle hit her.

The collision occurred at around 11:30 p.m. on Highway 3, about five km west of the city.

The victim has been identified 27-year-old Veronica Alexis Jean Harris of the Pelican Lake First Nation.

RCMP Sgt. Dale Goodman says the male driver remained with the dead woman until help arrived.

He says the man was quite shaken up about the incident, but not hurt.

No charges are expected to be laid.
